Our Story

Language learning combines it all. Logic, memory, listening, empathy, muscle memory, interpretation, and cultural backgrounds are all part of the journey.

With Lingophant it is time to make natural learning much more effective.

We’re based in Vienna under strict data privacy laws, and are setting up a remote academy in the beautiful country of Georgia.

It’s a long story, 8 years by now

Why Lingophant?

As an exchange student I wanted to learn the local language in six months. I joined a classroom course and tried all mobile apps I could find. No way I’d get fluent that way. I wanted to work efficiently and be able quickly to speak with people. And have fun in the language.

Because as soon as you’re having fun, it becomes easier to learn.

This talk below has finally made me decide to just do it and actually work on Lingophant for the coming years. That’s now 8 years ago.

We love learning and building real connections around the world. Join us on Discord if you’re interested in getting to know us better (it’s been a bit inactive, but we hang out there).

We share course revenues

We’re more than just an app, we help create excellent courses. And we give creators a possibility to sell a course with us, without being overwhelmed with all the required skills and set-ups.

Course revenues are fairly shared between the course creators, the people in videos who give us their time, face and story, the people doing the editing, and Lingophant as a company.

We’re a global and independent company.

Lingophant has worked with people from Brazil, Germany, Egypt, Italy, Kazakhstan, Chile, Russia, Georgia, the US and many more. We wanna be a start-up that does things a little differently.

100% of our company is founder owned, who used his salaries and savings to fund the development of this method over 8 years. We will treat your data like we would want companies to treat our own data, meaning that we won’t use your private voice data for e.g. training AI models. We use a simple but effective stack of technologies. Not every company is like this.

Our mission is to make language learning great. Ultimately, we need it for making the world a better place through education, technology, and collaboration.
